About the Author...

I'm Caitlyn- an allegorical writer who loves Jesus, books, and swords! In my spare time, I slay dragons and draw people closer to the One True King. I also enjoys writing music, playing piano and guitar, and spending time with my family and friends. I'm currently writing several books, including a young adult fantasy-allegory series called the Trials by Fire Trilogy. I love dreaming up stories of dragons, sword fighting, and spacecraft and making those tales come to life by putting them on paper!

And Her Stories...

The Trials by Fire Trilogy is a YA fantasy-allegory series that has been super fun to write! Here is a summary of the first book:

Princes are born.
But heroes are made.
The days of Septune Fortison’s early life were filled with clashing swords, flying arrows, and mysterious messages about a war that he couldn’t quite find his place in.
The apathy doesn’t last long, though, because he is thrust into reality when the king of Bellator entrusts to him the most powerful weapon in all of the realms—the legendary Flameblade. The sword is as much dangerous as it is priceless, however, and Septune is pressured into abandoning it out of fear of misusing its power.
But when an unexpected turn of events occurs, Septune must journey outside of his home realm in order to save the sword. Along the way he meets Camellia, a fiery young girl who is hiding secrets of her own, along with a dragon who might just turn out to be Septune’s worst enemy.
Will the fire of the Sword break through the darkness before it’s too late?

Subscribers to my newsletter get access to one of my short stories, Called, which is an add-on to the Trials by Fire series. It is from the perspectives of some of the minor characters. My trilogy is teen/young adult fantasy, but readers of all ages enjoy it. My short story is great for family read-alouds!

Do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
